Faith Church: A United Methodist Congregation in Genoa, Illinois

Open hearts. Open minds. Open doors

 Welcome to Faith!

Welcome to Faith Church on the web! We're glad you've come! We are a church for children, families, youth, young adults, and seniors! We are a church for black, white, hispanic, asian, and native peoples! We are a church for straight and gay, married and single, divorced and widowed, and those who have yet to find their life partner! We are a church for the able-bodied, physically challenged, developmentally disabled, and traumatically injured. Faith Church doesn't try to be everything for everyone, but all are welcome in this congregation. Our spiritual journey as a congregation is one in which living out "open hearts, open minds, and open doors" is a way of life.

Explore our ministries with children, youth, families, senior citizens, and a wide variety of other opportunities in this little corner of the internet. All the activities of Faith Church are open to everyone. You do not need to be a member, a Christian, or even a resident of the Genoa-Kingston area in order to participate. Simply come join the activity, explore your spiritual life, learn from others, and celebrate the possibilities we believe God is offering you today!

We are a United Methodist congregation in the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church. While that might not be important to many, we celebrate our heritage as the oldest continually active congregation in our community and as part of the great church-planting movement in the early 1800's. It is our United Methodist heritage that informs us but it is God who leads us into the future being prepared for us as a congregation. We invite all people to explore our heritage and join in the exciting future God is preparing for us. Welcome to Faith!

Ministry and Mission Priorities Set

The Church Council adopted the following Ministry and Mission Priorities at their July 2007 meeting. As of the summer of 2008, we continue to affirm these are our ministry and mission priorities. These priorities were developed and recommended to the Church Council as part of the outcome of the Leadership Retreat earlier that summer. The Ministry and Mission Priorities are:

  • Facility Expansion & Renovation
  • Small Group Ministries (Affinity Groups)
  • Intentional Lay Leadership Development
  • Evangelism as the Culture of Faith Church
  • Community Service which is both Local and Global

Faith Church worships each Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
